XM Launches GOLD24-7: Weekend Gold Trading Goes Live
Abstract:XM has launched GOLD24-7, a new CFD instrument that extends gold trading to seven days a week, removing the traditional weekend blackout. The product sits alongside XM's existing XAU/USD offering and follows CME Group's move to 24/7 gold futures trading in July 2026.

XM has introduced GOLD24-7, a new gold trading instrument that gives traders access to gold markets seven days a week, the broker announced via FinanceWire from Limassol, Cyprus, on August 6, 2026. The launch removes the longstanding weekend blackout window, allowing positions to be opened, adjusted or closed at any time, including through the weekend gap that previously left traders unable to respond to market-moving events until Monday.
“Markets don't stop generating news simply because it's the weekend,” said Stavri Morti, Co-CEO at XM. “We introduced GOLD24-7 to give our clients greater flexibility to respond to those developments as they happen, instead of waiting until Monday.”
A Separate Product Alongside Traditional Spot Gold
GOLD24-7 is offered as a separate CFD product alongside XM's existing spot gold offering, XAU/USD, which continues to operate on its standard trading schedule. The new instrument is available across XM's supported platforms, subject to account type and regional availability.
Unlike traditional gold CFDs that follow standard market hours, GOLD24-7 extends trading beyond the conventional Monday-to-Friday session. This matters for swing and position traders exposed to weekend gap risk, and for news-driven traders who can now act on weekend headlines as they break rather than after the fact.
Industry Shift Toward Round-the-Clock Gold Access
The launch follows a broader industry movement toward extended-hours gold access. CME Group introduced 24/7 trading for its 1-ounce gold futures contract in July 2026, and several retail brokers have since introduced their own round-the-clock gold CFD products.
XM has been a market leader in gold trading for over 15 years. Earlier in 2026, amid historic gold market volatility, the broker provided uninterrupted trading with zero requotes and no rejections. GOLD24-7 builds on that track record.
Liquidity Considerations Outside Standard Hours
As with any extended-hours product, liquidity conditions outside standard market hours can differ from peak session overlap, potentially affecting spreads and execution. Gold remains among the most closely watched CFD instruments, with price action sensitive to inflation data, US dollar movements, Treasury yields and broader risk sentiment, all of which can shift outside the traditional trading week.
Regulatory Backing and Client Access
XM operates through multiple regulated entities, including CySEC in Cyprus and DFSA in Dubai, with protections depending on a client's country of residence. Client funds are held in segregated accounts, and negative balance protection applies to eligible retail clients.
The broker serves over 20 million clients from more than 190 countries and offers over 1,400 instruments across all devices. GOLD24-7 is now available to all XM clients, and traders can open an account to begin trading gold throughout the week.
